About
Becka Lee Gruber

Becka Lee Gruber is an illustrator and creative strategist based in the Appalachian Mountains.

With a background in entertainment, branding, and creative direction, she co-founded Get Em Tiger in 2012, developing visual storytelling across publishing, hospitality, entertainment, and consumer brands.

Her work blends illustration, typography, and narrative into immersive visual worlds rooted in story, texture, and emotional clarity.

Clients have ranged from emerging brands to Fortune 50 companies, with projects connected to Disney, Lucasfilm, Warner Bros., and Nickelodeon.

Illustration-led storytelling with a strong point of view—designed to feel timeless, immersive, and emotionally memorable.

Outside the studio, she plays jazz piano and spends time in the garden, usually with her husband and wire fox terrier close by.

How the Work Comes Together

Phase One: Picking a creative direction. Digitally or traditionally, I sketch to block in composition, pressure-testing the idea, and making sure the key elements are doing their job before anything moves forward.

Phase Two: Color. Testing contrast and overall feel before committing to anything final. This is also where collaboration really happens— building the direction together while it’s still flexible.

Phase Three: Once everything’s approved, I move into production of the final painting. I’ll either build it as one cohesive piece or construct it in layers for flexibility later. If you need assets prepped for animation, let me know.

Final Phase: If traditionally painted, I scan at 600+ DPI, meticulously clean up digitally to preserve texture and brush strokes, and then a flat or layered file can be delivered.
